Destiny Worship Center International was birthed from the heart of Pastor Christopher L. Evans Sr. over 18 years ago in Hogansville, GA. This ministry was initiated with a determination to change the lives and mindsets of people. Pastor Evans envisioned a church of significance and influence that would encourage ordinary people to achieve extraordinary success. As a result, thousands of people discovered the beauty of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Destiny is a derivative of destination. The goal of Destiny Worship Center is to assist individuals in forecasting their destinations in life. We believe that destiny is affected by decisions; therefore, we must decide to succeed in life.
Destiny Worship Center International was originally Miracle Ministries of Jesus Christ Church and officially began in the summer of 1991. The church started at Park Meadow Apartments in Hogansville, GA, with seven individuals. Eventually, the church relocated in June of 1992 to the Reunion Hall. Reunion Hall was an old building used by a local prayer band of elderly women. This site became the first official home of Miracle Ministries of Jesus Christ Church. Due to a need for a larger facility, the church relocated again to a store front on Main Street in downtown Hogansville. The ministry would reside there for seven years. Again, the ministry out-grew this location. In September of 2000, the Ministry purchased a 40,000 square foot facility with 30 acres of Land on Industrial Road in Hogansville, GA.
In 2006, the Lord lead Pastor Evans to decide to change the name of the Church to Destiny Worship Center International. This change signaled a new direction for the church. Pastor Evans and the church would now be dedicated to helping individuals find their purpose and calling in life. Destiny Worship Center International was more appropriate.
In September of 2007, Destiny Worship Center International extended it’s boundaries to Newnan, GA, and planted a second location. Destiny-Newnan is a thriving young energetic congregation that is sure to make an impact. It is the goal of Pastor Evans to plant churches throughout this nation and world causing people “to find their road and travel journey, well…”
